This weekend just gone I had the pleasure of taking 10 ladies out of there comfort zone and on a Yoga and walking retreat at Girraween National Park. Leaving our comfort zone can feel like the whole world is crashing down around us. But, it also indicates that the universe is giving us space to grow. Throughout the weekend we learnt to explore new limits while remaining grounded and calm, teaching us to obtain confidence and sense of security from within, not from anything outside of ourselves.
As Yogis we are given insight into how much we are capable of because of the time we spend on our mats. All of us at some stage have had asana (poses) we have found challenging. But with every breath and every practise the seemingly impossible are actually very achievable. We then take those lessons of our mats and into our everyday lives. Over the 4 days I watched the group climb to the top of the Pyramids (so steep), support and trust each other in partner Yoga poses, get creative with art and try new food. Each lady at some point over the weekend experienced the magic that is waiting for us right at the end of our comfort zone.
It is empowering, rewarding and stimulates growth when we step outside of our everyday routine. Go try something new today.
